Shipping Guide
When listing an item on Destasher, you can choose to either ship it to the buyer/taker or have them pick it up from your home, by specifying the area in which you live or even your street name. You can also offer both options - shipping AND pick up - to give them more flexibility.
While we have bold ideas on how to make shipping easier and more streamlined, this early platform currently does not handle shipping directly. For now, it’s up to sellers/givers to quote their shipping prices and arrange delivery.
We are currently welcome members based in the UK only.

1. General Principles for Quoting Shipping
When setting your shipping price, include:

3. Royal Mail size, weight, and price guides
First, determine your item's size and weight, as this dictates the price band.
Letter: Max 24cm x 16.5cm x 0.5cm; up to 100g = ~£0.87 (2nd Class)
Large Letter: Max 35.3cm x 25cm x 2.5cm; up to 750g = approx. £3 to £4
Small Parcel: Max 45cm x 35cm x 16cm; up to 2kg = typically £3.90 to £6
Medium Parcel: Max 61cm x 46cm x 46cm; up to 20kg = typically £7 to £10

4. Typical item types & suggested shipping with Royal Mail
Yarn: 1–2 skeins usually fit a small parcel. Larger bundles may need a medium parcel. Compress yarn where possible.
Fabric: Up to 1 meter folded can ship as a small parcel. 2 to 4 meters usually medium parcel.
Sewing notions & tools: Small items may fit Large Letter rates if flat. Bulky or sharp items should be sent as parcels.
Patterns & books: Flat paper patterns may ship as Large Letters. Thicker bundles should be sent as parcels.
