Loomstate wool fabric

I bought this fabric from a man who kept one of the Holmfirth mills running during the lockdowns and chose the colours and patterns depending on what was available, making these quite unique. I believe the fabric is wool but I can't guarantee it 100%. Loom state fabric is fabric that has come straight off the loom. Currently it feels quite coarse and there is a beautiful aroma of lanolin and machine oil from it. It is recommended to "finish" the fabric by washing it which will soften and thicken the fabric and reduce fraying. It will then shrink the fabric by about 10-15% I finished some of the fabric to make a jacket and machine washed it at 30⁰C, 800 spin and then hung to dry. It did shrink, became a lot softer and the weave appeared closer making it thicker and slightly felted. That jacket is going to be nice and warm when I wear it in winter! Priced at £9 per metre happy to cut to size. This one was difficult to photograph, the colour is more true to the fabric pile photos
